Mikhail Volkov is such a fascinating character. He’s been living a lie for six years, hiding behind this tough exterior that’s really just masking his pain and guilt. His scars, both inside and out, make him feel so real and human, and I couldn’t help but feel for him as he struggled with the darkness in his past. He’s the kind of character who stays with you because, even when he’s distant and cold, you know there’s so much more bubbling under the surface. Watching him grapple with his demons was both heartbreaking and inspiring.
Anastasia was incredible—strong, determined, and exactly what Mikhail needed, even when he didn’t want to admit it. She wasn’t afraid to push him or dig deeper when he tried to shut her out. I loved how brave and intuitive she was, especially when it came to breaking through Mikhail’s walls. At the same time, she wasn’t perfect, and her vulnerabilities made her even more relatable. She’s the kind of character who you find yourself rooting for, not just because of her strength, but because of the way she sees the best in others—even when they can’t see it themselves.
Their relationship was a rollercoaster of emotions. The chemistry between them was electric, but it wasn’t an easy road. Mikhail’s secrets and his constant internal battle added so much tension, and you could feel how much was at stake for both of them. What I loved most was how their struggles didn’t just pull them apart—they forced them to grow, both individually and together. Their journey felt so raw and authentic, and I was hooked on every moment, wondering if they’d find a way to make it work.
“Claim” is a gripping conclusion to Luna Mason’s “Beneath the Secrets” series. I’ve always admired her ability to create these dark, flawed characters who feel so real, and she absolutely nailed it here. The story is intense, emotional, and full of twists, but it’s also about redemption, resilience, and fighting for love when the odds are against you. If you love dark mafia romances with deep emotional layers, this book is definitely one you don’t want to miss!
