Vittoria “Tori” Romano, after the death of her father, who was a member of the mafia and stepmother, her step-brother Giorgio, is entrusted with her care. Who once became ‘head of their family’ revealed his true colours to her. A vial, conniving man who is a gambling addict and owes the many to multiple mafia heads. She has been abused physically by her brother for many years, and her only enjoyment in life is assisting with her church. When out for dinner with her brother, Tori runs into Angelo in an unexpected fashion, which sets a change in her life she could never see happening.
Angelo Rizzo, last saw Vittoria at her father’s funeral. Angelo is hit with how she has grown into a stunning young woman from the girl he once met. Her brother, Giorgio, owes him a LOT of money, and he starts to think of a way that he can keep Tori to himself.
This love story of Tori and Angelo was hard to put down. Angelo is the morally grey man we all dream of, avenging his woman, never doubting her loyalty and helping her grow into the strong woman she has never been able to become under the control of her step-brother. Their story has a nice balance of Angelo being possessive and protective, and Tori being innocent and resilient. Angelo falls hard and fast, but their relationship is more genuine with the reactions of Tori when they are first together which made me fall in love with these two.
