Severed by Vengeance is a detective x hitman/assassin story, which has palpable sexual chemistry, with a slow burn for about half the book. The spice when it spices is steamy, with a sprinkling of dirty talk from Derek that made me blush.
This book had me gripped! Sometimes slow burns can drag on a bit, however, I did not find that with Severed by Vengeance. The sexual chemistry and banter between Derek and Eva made the slow burn sizzle.
